Lost autistic boy found after 4 nights in Australian forest

Melbourne - Police have rescued an 11-year-old autistic boy who had spent four nights alone and lost in a dense Australian forest.

Police commander Rick Nugent says Luke Shambrook was spotted from a police helicopter before noon on Tuesday in the Fraser National Park in Victoria state 3km from his family's campground where he disappeared from on Friday morning.

Nugent told reporters the boy was exhausted, dehydrated and suffering hypothermia, but was otherwise well.

More than 120 searchers have combed the dense scrubland since Friday morning.

Temperatures fell below 9°C during the nights and there had been some rain.
