Man opens fire, wounds 5 on main Istanbul high street

Istanbul - A man opened fire at dawn on Monday on Istanbul's main high street, Istiklal Boulevard, wounding five people, including a tourist.

The Dogan news agency reported that the man was apparently involved in an altercation with a group of people when he opened fire. Four of those injured were involved in the scuffle.

Turkish police were investigating the incident and the injured were taken to hospital.
