NY terror suspect arrived on student visa

2012-10-18 08:31

New York - The 21-year-old arrested on charges of plotting to blow up the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan came to the US from Bangladesh on a student visa, New York City's police commissioner said.

Quazi Nafis was arrested on Wednesday after he tried to detonate a fake bomb outside the building.

Commissioner Raymond Kelly says Nafis came under the guise of going to school in Missouri, but was really plotting an attack.

Authorities tracked him using Facebook and other social media, but the account was taken down on Wednesday.

Kelly says New York City remains at the top of the terrorist target list.

It's the thought that counts. Remember the poor fella who got into trouble for spilling a drink near the dancing clown president of bananaland

In all seriousness, he DID try to detonate the "bomb", but he was set up, he didn't know it was a fake one. So he went through the motions and got a lekker surprise :-)

bosmano "It's the thought that counts." "There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live—did live, from habit that became instinct -- in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized." pg 1 chapter 1, 1984, George Orwell Somebody in the halls of power has decided to use 1984 as a manual...and very few Americans noticed!

Entrapment...the target, material and date of the operation all supplied by the FBI. This is nothing short of the "thought crime" Orwell wrote about. Americans are really being fooled and further required to give up their civil liberties. The FBI is in the process of having its budget cut and has to manufacture targets in order to justify its current budget! "FBI Director Robert S. Mueller warned lawmakers Wednesday that a possible budget cut could delay his agency’s efforts to find terrorists and bomb makers." "The FBI’s budget request for 2013 includes a $162 million cut from the FBI’s Salaries & Expense account." Orwell was on the money!
