Naked bodybuilder beats up US couple

2011-12-06 11:08

California - Police say a naked, 136kg bodybuilder savagely beat a southern California couple at their home, leaving them in critical condition.

The Sun of San Bernardino says 22-year-old Ruben Arzu apparently was under the influence of steroids and other drugs, and it took four police officers, two stun gun blasts and four sets of handcuffs to restrain him.

Police say the couple came home late Saturday to find Arzu naked on the front porch of their home in Colton.

When Arzu was confronted by the 35-year-old husband, police say the bodybuilder attacked the man, causing major head trauma.

The man's wife called the police emergency dispatcher. Police say Arzu then picked her up and threw her around, causing facial injuries and multiple cuts to her head.

Arzu was booked on suspicion of attempted homicide.

I trust those, who are so obsessed with MULTICULTURALISM, are sleeping sound tonight...

      Chris - 2011-12-06 15:35

Spyker, what are you now actually trying to say?

      Spyker - 2011-12-06 15:57

There is an old saying: if you do not understand it, it would be impossible to explain it to you.., so go figure...

      Chris - 2011-12-06 16:02

its not that I dont understand, I would just like your racist comments to be spelled out. Hiding behind a smoke screen is easy!!

      Chris - 2011-12-06 16:07

@ Spyker, have you tried to move to Orania, they love your type there!!!

      Spyker - 2011-12-06 16:29

@Chris, Have you tried to move to Zimbabwe, they love your type there...

      Chris - 2011-12-06 16:35

hahahaha, is that all you can come up with Spyker? hahahahaha.... trust me, I would much rather stay in Zim than in Orania.... I think you need help, you are stuck in the past... By the way, where did you get the whole racisms in this story?? or are you one of those people who eat sleep and drink racism???

      rbczovczov - 2011-12-06 16:37

I suspect Skyper is under influence of some kind of steroids.

      Omnivore - 2011-12-06 18:53

@Spyker: "...if you do not understand it, it would be impossible to explain it to you.., so go figure..." Sadly, ou Spykertjie, that adage cuts both ways.

      Spyker - 2011-12-06 22:08

Ye Omnivore, "both ways" - ie to you and Chris - thanks for the validation though...

      rbczovczov - 2011-12-06 22:08

@Spyker, you seem to be well educated and in good command of the queen's language, so why not use your verbal talent for good than spew hatred and insults to all and sundry?

      Chris - 2011-12-07 08:07

Spyker, you see the thing is, I am not the one with a problem with race, so I will gladly stay exactly where I am, you are the one with the problem, and that is why I suggested that you move to Orania. And Once again I would like to find out from you, where on earth did you see the need to bring up race in this article???

  • Matthew - 2011-12-06 11:44

This often happens when people feel insecure and inferior due to their severely underdeveloped and inoffensive genitalia. 'Roids only exacerbates the condition. Yep, all caused by little willies.

      Phoenix - 2011-12-06 12:15

Oh please it has nothing to do with penis size - it has to do with the pressure put on women and men to look perfect and win at all costs. Steroid abuse is rife in our schools and gyms - and these so-called belittling comments do not help to address the issue.

      Matthew - 2011-12-06 12:33

They are illegal drugs that destroy body and mind. Thats all, everyone knows what the effects are, just look at Chris Benoit. Yeah, these cretins do deserve belittling comments since their own inferiority is belittling in itself.

      Phoenix - 2011-12-06 12:42

You did not get what I was saying at all, did you?

      Johncarlos ? Biza - 2011-12-06 13:58

Lol at the irony of the word 'belittle'

      Chum Scrubber - 2011-12-06 17:28

Hmmm, not all roid takers have little chops - could be a form of compensation for some, but certainly an oversimplification of the problem. All the kids are taking stuff these days (ok, dry your legs, not all, but a lot of them). I think they're easy to abuse when the guys see the quick results, then they just want more and more until their bodies and brains are cooked. Dangerous stuff, but a lot of parents seem to condone it - especially the "macho" dads.

      maseratifittipaldi - 2011-12-06 20:21

Mathew, I think you are onto something here. This must serve as a wake-up call for those 17 Cops in Durban. This kind of extreme behaviour is bound to increase. It is all caused by this glow ball warming and climb mate changes.

      Chris - 2011-12-07 12:51

Matthew you are a fool, sorry to say. Where do you get your info from - did your grandmother pass it on to you? I am by NO means for the use or abuse of steroids, but (1) the use of steroids does not influence the size of genitalia (except for a temporary atrophy of testicles in some cases, which restores itself without exception), and (2) there is no such thing as being 'under the influence' of steroids - they are not psychotic or mind altering drugs. No medical study has ever been able to conclude the existence of 'roid rage' either. I sincerely dislike it when people who are clearly not in the know with regards to medical topics spread medically incorrect rumors - and yes I do work in medicine. One thing I have indeed learned over time - comments about 'small willies' and similar incorrect assumptions are usually made by insecure, lazy men who feel the need to play other males down in order to justify their lack of development and sexual appeal. Get your facts straight next time before you try to make yourself look the part.

      Frank - 2011-12-07 13:30

it`s concerning that a guy who doesn`t have a clue what he`s talking about gets so many thumbs up.many misinformed and opinionated people out there, making judgements with zero`s funny when people try and cover up their own jealousy by attacking those that are doing well for themselves .notice how guys in ferraris will also be accused of small willys and so forth.sad really.

Moerse tuff ou on the interweb, ol Heiku. Nothing wrong with doing a bit of gym to keep yourself in shape, but you've got to realise a lot of women find men with big muscles mincing around on the beach more amusing than sexy. Vanity kind of hits one in the face, even pretty but vain women are offputting to most men.

This roid stuff is scary, I've never known anyone with such an insane temper as this oke - and he was short - so obviously a compensation issue.

  • Tyron - 2011-12-06 13:34

wow you all know so much about steriod use, did you google that!! do you even know the hard work and dieting that we as bodybuilders have to go threw to get on stage?? it must be cos our willy's are small and we have inferior complex's... funny how this report doesnt really explain why he attacked them.

      Phoenix - 2011-12-06 13:44

I have the utmost respect for bodybuilders - having a couple of friends who compete. The dedication is astounding.

      Jason - 2011-12-06 13:48

Tyron we all know there are decent body builders out there, we also know about the idiots such as this oke, who is 22 and weighs over 130KG - he is eating/dreaming and sniffing steroids!! PS its also what we go through and not threw!!

      Jean - 2011-12-06 13:52

      Tyron - 2011-12-06 13:56

thanks Jason i didnt know i was entering a spelling Bee. agreed there are decent bodybuilder out there that take steriods for the sport, on the other hand you have your averge gym goers who take roids to look big and beat ppl, that is not what the sport is about !!

      Tyron - 2011-12-06 13:57

Jean, men get breasts due to the fact that the body is producing to much estrogen, there is cures for it.

      Maai - 2011-12-06 14:15

@Tryon Actually, the excess estrogen is from the excess testosterone that they are taking (all anabolic steroids are forms or derivatives of testosterone) being converted by the liver enzyme aromatase, into estrogen.

      Mildly_Amused - 2011-12-06 14:19

I also have a lot of respect for bodybuilders :P Mainly because I don't like getting beaten up.

    Steroid abuse?

      Phoenix - 2011-12-06 14:19

Yes. Anabolic steriods have 'legitimate' uses - for example burn victims and accident victims that were in a coma for a long time and suffer from muscle atrophy.

      Chum Scrubber - 2011-12-06 17:41

The muscles make up for the lack of brain power.

      Frank - 2011-12-06 17:35

sure, that`s why arnie is one of the most well known actors in history, brilliant businessman, and former californian governor.what have you achieved?

  • Frank - 2011-12-06 17:55

ok,for starters ,an a-hole will always be an a-hole,it`s just that on juice,he becomes a bigger one, because he demands respect and gets upset if he doesn`t get his way.most bodybuilders are actually pretty laid back such as myself, and we don`t walk around thinking were better,we just love our sport and are normal people.steroids are used to gain an advantage or keep up with competitors.if you think steroids are exclusive to bodybuilding ,then think again.everyone from golfers, tennis players to rugby at pro level are using,i know this because i train many of them:)and trust me ,it`s not cos they eat thier oats every morning.personally i think some go way overboard now a days ,using way to much,to young.even at 22 ,guys are generally way to young and immature.used at reasonable doses ,especially entering andropause, under doctor supervision with regular blood work, testosterone is actually quite safe, and even improves many aspects of a mans life.(why is it ok for woman to have hormone replacement but not for men?)anyway ,about the rage thing, has anyone bothered to to read the artcle properly and think for a second?this goes for the wrestler chris bennoit(or whatever).it says he was on `other` drugs too, like what? crack cocaine ,c.a.t ? these drugs have a far, far, greater impact on your actions than steroids ever many murders can be attributed to alcohol, cocaine etc.?theres millions of bodybuilders using steroids,so where`s the bodybuilders lined up outside death row?

      Frank - 2011-12-06 18:14

of all the bodybuilding comps i`ve done not one fight has broken out,by most peoples logic ,with all the `roid rage`supposedly going around it would be a mass blood bath of carnage lol.tyron and phoenix are the only ones who actually think for themselves without falling for media sensationalism.people forget they`re trying to `sell` stories,"steroid bodybuilder kills"or "crackhead kills"which headline naturally grabs our attention first? steroids should be used responsibly and under supervision.unless someone has been using stupid doses for prolonged periods of time and not educated themselves ,side effects are minimal, reversible and controllable. if someone takes a bottle of aspirin,or a bottle of d-bol,guess which one`s gonna kill him?don`t believe all the horror stories blamed on steroids, get the whole story first.i`ll still get alot of thumbs down but i don`t care,i just want to give people something to think about.

      Maai - 2011-12-06 19:13

And you will also know that bodybuilders use steroids in dosages that far exceed recommended dosages to treat andropause. Dont live in denial. I have been involved in bodybuilding for 30 years and I have seen a lot of people destroy their health using steroids. I agree that it is unlikely that the guy in the report did what he did as a result of steroid use but WADA has a list of banned substances and if you compete in an organisation that is affiliated to WADA, you are cheating if you use anything on that list.Drug cheats are bad for sport.

      Frank - 2011-12-06 20:17

ja my point though is just like anything from alcohol to common painkillers, moderation is key.and like these other drugs, people who have no control and addictive tendencies should certainly stay away from steroids.mate, the chemists(pays more)+ athletes are ALWAYS ahead of the testers, wada cannot test for a steroid which they don`t know exists.remember `the clear`epo synonomous with cyclists and endurance athletes?...wasn`t called that for nothing.alot of the rugby players and pro athletes we shout for every weekend are not so think they go to training camps in the middle of nowwhere and come back with another 10 kilos of muscle cos they`ve been good boys just eating their vegetables and sticking to the rules,i`m thinking i`m not the one in denial...

      Chum Scrubber - 2011-12-07 06:02

Frank, with your measured response it seems you're using the stuff in moderation. Well said, everything is ok in moderation. I'm still scared of the stuff and satisfied with my racing snake body though.

      Maai - 2011-12-07 08:57

@Frank you are in denial. Go and study 4 years of biochemistry as I have done before you debate the side effects of exogenous hormone use.

      VOVO247 - 2011-12-07 12:24

@Frank, if you look at the likes vs dislikes ratio on your explanation above, it will show you the reason why some people, should never been given the right to have an opinion... On this site, you will find that most logical, reasonable arguments representing a true feeling or emotion about an issue are deleted by moderators, & all that remains is the racial political trolling, which probably keeps the readership & responses higher. news24 has gone to the dogs when it comes to moderation & bias.

      Frank - 2011-12-07 12:54

my client`s an endocrinologist:)... ultimately my point is that sides of steroids are greatly over exagerated.with my (once a year)cycles,i`m even more chilled than when i`m off it!i don`t even shout at the dog ,lol. if you`re gonna demonise steroids, you better do the same with simple drugs we see out in the open everyday.cigarettes and alcohol, how many lives are destroyed with these things on a daily basis?try tell me booze doesn`t cause agression.walk into any club/pub on a friday night and there`s a good chance of fists flying.heaven forbid the guys big though,it wont be the coke he just sniffed,or the 10 beers he drank,no ,it`ll be steroids!this is looking at something with common sense,i don`t need to study for 4 years to see that. have a good day all.

  • barry.mcbride - 2011-12-06 19:36

@spykermay: Your initial comment made absolutely no sense when read in the context of the column it was being made about. There is nothing about culture in this article unless in is steroid culture. Multiculturalism is a different animal all together and yes I will freely admit to being one of those liberals you ranted about and I neither live behind high walls nor run away to another country as I live in peace with multiculured people of my choosing as anyone is now free to do in SA. I share my house with a former MK cadre who is might I mention it black, have black and Indian friends with whom I take tea in their homes and mine and so far I have not been the victim of any form of crime. Maybe it's because to me I am part of the human race and I don't generalise about people from different cultures thus don't make enemies. More than one of my black friends have been murdered and also robbed so I don't see things in the same way you do. You would be amazed if you spoke to people from different cultures and shared why they do things and what they think about the ruling party at how many of them are on the same page as you are. Try it and you will see.

Plenty of these types in the East Rand or Bellville (CPT). They also tend to like rum/brandy and double cab bakkies. The bigger the better. Muscles grow, penis and brain shrink and that obviously makes them mad.
