No room for Israel - Ahmadinejad

2011-08-26 17:02

Tehran - The Iranian president said on Friday there will be no room for Israel in the region after the formation of a Palestinian state, and that once the state is established, the liberation of all Palestinian lands should follow.

The comments by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reflected his typical anti-Israeli rhetoric, which has drawn international condemnation since he first said in 2005 that Israel should be "wiped off the map".

Ahmadinejad spoke at a Tehran ceremony following nationwide pro-Palestinian rallies marking Quds Day. Quds is the Arabic word for Jerusalem. The annual demonstration is an occasion for Iranian officials to show off their support for Palestinians and condemn archenemy Israel.

The remarks come as the Palestinians are pushing this year to achieve recognition at the United Nations during the General Assembly meeting in September. The statehood bid comes amid stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations and although the UN vote in New York will be largely symbolic, the Palestinians believe it will send a powerful message to Israel.

"Do not assume you will be boosted with a [UN] recognition of a Palestinian state," Ahmadinejad said, addressing Israel. "There is no room for you in the region."

"Recognition of a Palestinian state is the first step in the liberation of the entire Palestine," he added.

Since the 1979 Islamic revolution that brought hardline Islamists to power in Tehran, Iran's leadership has been hostile to Israel, backing anti-Israel groups like the Palestinian Hamas and Lebanon's Hezbollah.

Thieves and criminals of the world

Ahmadinejad also urged the West to stop supporting Israel.

"You [the West] and the Zionist regime will have no base in the Middle East," he warned, and dismissed the West's support for a two-state solution as a tactic meant "to save" Israel.

Reiterating his anti-Holocaust rhetoric, Ahmadinejad also said Israel was created on lies and added, "the Zionist regime is the axis of unity among all thieves and criminals of the world".

He also called on rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas to form as strong, unified state and not "consider it sufficient to have minor and weak governments in a small area".

In 2007, the militant Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip, leaving Fatah only in control of the West Bank.

Iran faces increased pressure from the West over its controversial nuclear programme that Israel, the United States and others contend is intended for nuclear weapons making. Tehran denies the charge, insisting the program is for peaceful purposes only, such as generating power.

Tens of thousands attended the Quds Day rally in Tehran. State TV said millions of Iranians participated in the rallies in cities and towns across Iran.

The Iranian president's racist stance on Isreal, is like the ANCYL's racist stance on whites in South Africa. Isreal will defend itself and overcome the Arab racism, the whites in South Africa will defend themselves and overcome the ANCYL racism.

      PJ - 2011-08-26 19:41

It's not about South Africa - that's infitinisimal in terms of Jehohvah Gods plan. Its about the Sarah's son Isaac and his decendants. Don't try to debate the future, just read the Word and all will be revealed. They will march in their millions and will be destroyed by the two edged sword. Jehovah God's plan is the plan. Simple. Its not about what you and I think. Did you and I create the universe?

      Boer - 2011-08-26 23:36

What a damn Racist pig. To hell with this Iranian tyrant. This guy needs to be careful. The world is sick and tired of Regime leaders. Look at Iraq, Look at Lybia, Look at whats going on in Syria and Egypt. Iranian Presidents time is also going to come. He is anonther dictator thats going to see his ASS literally.

      Netherlander - 2011-08-27 06:26

I can see the Iranian Idiot with his sign: "I HATE JUICE"!!!!!!

      Liberty - 2011-09-22 20:14

If Iran think they can take on Ireal the are seriously mistaken. Many countries in the region have made that mistake.

  • BigMoose - 2011-08-26 17:15

If Ahmadinejad's eyes get any closer together, he will be known as Cyclops.

  • MrsM - 2011-08-26 17:27

The beginning of the end? Iran will be the one (one of many) wiped off the face of the earth. Not by Israel - but by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! He promised that the land of Israel will be their possession forever!! Let all Christians pray for the protection of the Jewish nation, because they are and will always be God's chosen people. In them all nations of the earth are blessed. Long live Israel! Shalom

      Richard - 2011-08-26 18:30

Richard @ Mrs I sympathise with you but differ in opinion about being God's chosen people which would not do justice to an impartial God ,such as our God is. however, If I may , I would say that the Bible points to the fact that Seth,Noah,Shem ,and all the others , the Jewish nation in fact loved and chose the Almighty God to be their God simply by obeying him ,doing what was right in his eyes. He put up with one hell of a lot of nonsense from them but out of fondness for the part of those that had tried so hard ,he had almost never ending patience. They still stand the chance of anyone to be accepted but I dont think God is going to be handing out coupons

      Paul Jackson - 2011-08-26 18:43

Mrs M You are well read in the Word. Jehovah God decreed that land to His people and shall defeat His adversaries as written. All part of His perfect plan. No worries, Jehovah God is, as always, in control.

      Poobie-Naicker - 2011-08-26 18:47

This madman should watch that he does not have his mout wiped from his face!

      Romans8 - 2011-08-26 19:03

@CorneliusB - I disagree with you. Genesis 12: 1-3 tells us from the outset, that we are to bless Israel, that is not spiritual Israel. You are dangerously preaching replacement theology here. We the church has not replaced Israel. God is not finished with them. I suggest you read Romans 11 carefully and then go read the whole of Zech 13.

      CorneliusB - 2011-08-26 19:18

@Romans 8 - I have to admit that I am battling with the old/new covenant doctrine, and made the comment without thinking properly. I do the moment I struggle to see how Israel will be saved apart from Christ, for only those who believe in Christ will recieve salvation. But that is another debate that doesn't really apply to God's promise of land to Israel and in my ignorance I tried to combine these two... Thanks for the insights...I will deepen my study on this topic!

      Met - 2011-08-26 19:41

The God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, is not impartial.Israel is His chosen people and He says that He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse them. That applies to both individuals and nations. Not even the Israeli government has the right to give land away to the arabs which was given by God. This Mohamedinajad is the greatest threat to peace and Israel, to defend itself against this lunatic, must destroy Irans nuclear facilities- the sooner, the better. And in anticipation of many thumbs down, you can give me a million- it will still not change FACT.

      Romans8 - 2011-08-26 19:47

CorneliusB - you are correct in saying that the only way of salvation for the Jews or Israel is through Christ, but remember they were chosed for a purpose which they did not fulfil, but will do so in the tribulation, through the 144000. As it says in Zec 13 two thirds of them will be cut off but the third (a remnant) which will be spared, who are still Israel speaking of natural Israel will be saved, yes by Christ, when they look on Him who was pierced in the house of His friends (Israel). Remember it is because of their rejection of Jesus that we have been given the opportunity of salvation, that through their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles. Time for the Gentiles is running out. See in Rom 11:21-24. We must be very careful what we say on this matter, for God can and will restore the natural branches to the Olive Tree (Jesus Christ).

      Met - 2011-08-26 19:50

Just to add to what Romans said, the word Israel appears 74 times in the Bible and in 71 times( 96 %) it is ABSOLUTELY clear that God speaks about the NATION of Israel. No, absolutely no,the church has not replaced Israel and God will never forsake them. Does it mean that they dont err? Not at all, but a remnant will be saved. That is Gods promise to Israel and He NEVER breaks promises

  • Mallyg - 2011-08-26 17:35

Ahmadinejad, why don't you join with Russia and all your Islam buddies and attack Israel by way of the Jezreel valley. Iran has the best horses in the world to mount the attack. All Christians will watch in awe as God's anger is roused as he miraculously defends Israel and wipes out Ahmadinejad and friends.

  • Jayxer - 2011-08-26 17:45

Isn't this talk an act of war? Now bomb Iran with Nukes!

  • rustic - 2011-08-26 18:08

    Ag voetsek Ahmadinejad.

  • Romans8 - 2011-08-26 18:38

Abobijaan - your days are numbered for sure from the God of Israel. According to the Bible your country was Persia, and your country will make an alliance with Russia (Gog) which is already happening. You will be lead to Armageddon where you will finally be destroyed!! Of course a lot of Iranians don't have to be foolish and take the side of their country and give their lives to Jesus and be on the right side!

      Ali Akbar - 2011-08-26 18:41

This man speaks like Hitler and also has the spirit of Hitler residing in him.

      Met - 2011-08-26 19:54

An anti-semetic feeling is satanically inspired. You better examine your heart.

      Ali Akbar - 2011-08-26 20:29

@Met - I am not in favour of this lunatic Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He is a very dangerous and vile man in my opinion when I say he has that same spirit that resided in Hitler!

      Liberty - 2011-09-22 20:17

@ali akbar the problem for this guy is that he doesn't have hitler's army. He's just hot air, nothing else

  • Lehana Motloung - 2011-08-26 18:40

speak my president. Expose those criminals for who they are. Israel will soon collapse because of its crimes. Long live the Islamic republic

      PJ - 2011-08-26 19:47

Hi Lehana: Not so. Read the Word. Isaac and Ishmael. Jehovah God's seed is Isaac. God's covenant is never changed by us. His covenant regarding land to His people is irrevociable. Who can defy the almighty Jehovah God? You Lehana? Me thinks not.

      Romans8 - 2011-08-26 19:48

Your Islamic republic has a few years left!

      Met - 2011-08-26 20:03

Israel is the only democracy in an ocean of Islamic dictatorships. What is reported here is exactly what that lunatic said. Stop deceiving yourself. Israel is a small strip of land surrounded by forces of evil and just one country, one of several neighbours, have an army four times that of Israel, and they have miraculously survived attack after attack. They have survived supernaturally and they will continue to do so, because the hand of the Living God is on them.

      Lehana Motloung - 2011-08-27 20:12

@PJ there are certain conditions those who call themselves the children of G-D. One of those conditions is to love one another as Jesus loved us. Isreals policies in Palestine are horrific to say the least. The ZIONITS have stolen the name of the chosen people and have abused it and associated it with unspeakable crimes. @met the "Islamic dictatorships" you speak of are Bharain, Saudi Arabia kuwait all of whom are friends with America nd Europe plus they receive massive aid from the west to crack down violently on peaceful demonstrators demanding basic human rights. Israel has not survived because of some devine intervention. it survived because the west want to use that entity to spread war and terror in that region. every year when the un general assembly discuses da issue they unanimously agree that Israel should stop building setlements in the west bank Israel refuses. @romans they have been sayin that since 1989 but the Islamic republic has grown and has become a ragional super power

      Dmitri - 2011-08-27 20:29

@lehana. The Shi'ite and Sunni cannot stand each other and kill them whenever they get the chance. I have videos of the executions but it violates news24 rules and regs. This same president killed hundreds of protestors when he "won" the election. Another thing that youmight consider is that he does not tule the country. It is ruled by the Heads of the religious sect. He is just the spokesman. No need to believe what I say, but do a little research. Not all Israelis are Zionists fyi

      Liberty - 2011-09-22 20:19

If your beloved islamic republic strikes israel, you could measure your islamic republic's life expectancy in seconds my friend

  • Valis - 2011-08-26 18:46

"since he first said in 2005 that Israel should be "wiped off the map"." Lie! He never said that. What he actually said was; "This regime occupying Jerusalem will disappear from the pages of history like the sands of time", a far cry from calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map". I can't believe the media keep getting away with touting this lie.

      Romans8 - 2011-08-26 19:50

Valis - are you so naive? What he really means is that the regime in other words the Jew will disappear from the pages of history like the sands of time.

  • letsee - 2011-08-27 07:34

Another MAD DOG. I don't like Israel's behaviour in the region but the Iranian president gives reason to Israel.

  • phillip.havenga - 2011-09-22 19:36

I would love to see this fool try and take on Israel, they will wipe him and his country off of the map.

  • OSMAN - 2011-09-22 20:02

its amazing when people speak without knowledge , I vejust returned from an aid mission in gaza and even though i considered myself liberal after seeing first hand zionist atrocities ,even on little kids I find it strange that people can still call zionist human , only people that have never been oppressed themselves and have supported the apartheid government in there injustices will see Israels version of events , stop being hypocrites and make an effort to learn the facts,, this time you cant say we did not know
