Washington - President Barack Obama looks forward to "working closely" with the new Israeli government formed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the US leader's visit, officials said on Saturday.

"President Obama looks forward to working closely with the Prime Minister and the new government to address the many challenges we face and advance our shared interest in peace and security," White House spokesperson Jay Carney said in a statement.

I am so glad the American government is in support of the Jewish people rather than like the South African government that sides with the Palestinians and the chinese.

Who knows it feels it, except psychopaths of course!

If israel is so bad, why do so many palestinians try and refuge there? What am I talking about? Gays, they are hung in Palestine, so they flee to Israel. Talk about an apartheid, I think the oppression is worse on the Palestinian side. Israeli don't murder israeli.

      Larry - 2013-03-17 09:49

There is no apartheid in Israel. Palestinian territories are ruled by the Palestinian Authority, or Hamas in the case of Gaza, and are not governed by Israeli civic law. The PA territories are under military occupation of Israel and subject to martial law. The real apartheid is the fact of continued refugee status imposed by Arab countries upon their own brethren, whereby refugee camp inhabitants are discriminated against, unable to work for a living, unable to free movement, disproportionate services, education and healthcare etc etc. Children born of these refugees inherit the 'refugee' status, which is against international law. None of this persecution is imposed upon them by Israel, but by their host countries, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria; and even the PA.

Is this about demographics or religious intolerance?

      Fidel Chavista - 2013-03-17 08:06

The "demographic balance policy,” or the “70/30 Plan is not only about racial demographics but ethnicity as well.

      Cameron Renovatio Hart - 2013-03-17 08:56

I think fidel found some more copy and paste lines from a palestinian libel site :). If only he understood what he was talking about lol.

      Larry - 2013-03-17 09:50

      Nuff said.

      themba.mazibuko.7587 - 2013-03-18 17:19

@fiddle - Have you ever contested the Saudi Plan 0/100 or the Palestinian plan of 0/100 ??

  • Stewart Croucamp - 2013-03-17 09:04

No, I am happy watching the world from where I am. Why don't you go live in Palestine?

      Avremel Niselow - 2013-03-17 09:09

Don't worry Stewart, some of the people on this site seem incapable of living in the same country as someone who disagrees with them. Truly pathetic attitude, I've heard it a few times.

    Zion vs Islam !!

  • Stewart Croucamp - 2013-03-17 09:17

Obama supports hard working people. Peace loving people. America knows the destructive nature of the Palestinians. There is a unity amongst those who know what is right. We colonialists stand united in the world. We will not allow terrorists to destroy it.

      Fidel Chavista - 2013-03-17 10:06

Your views wouldn't be out of place with the Zionist settlers in Israel. Colonialist birds of feather!

      Lynette Dicks - 2013-03-18 19:42

sjoe, dunno how u got to the world view.

The danger of hung democracies are that they can be corruptly influenced by minorities. They can bankroll both sides and hve undue influence. Next thing you know your troops are fighting someone elses battles. They are no angels, thats for certain, but then who is? Despite being democratic it shames me how Christian idolise Israel; the number of shameless corrupt, embezelling polititians in Israel is legend, and the struggling Palestinian church is completely ignored by them. I am sure that most Israelis would prefer their kids to be gay satanists than be Christians, i see no reciprocal feeling. How does Israeli law deal with converts to Christianity? To me, i don't wish them harm, but they are hard to like.

      Avremel Niselow - 2013-03-17 13:25

Converts to Christianity are treated like anyone else in Israel, they have full rights and nothing changes. In fact proselytizing is absolutely legal. The places where converts are ill treated are the Islamic countries such as Egypt and Iran where they are imprisoned. You seem to be well meaning but ill informed.

      Avremel Niselow - 2013-03-17 13:26

Israeli corruption scandals tend to be small, usually about minor bribes resulting in the removal of the corrupt individual from his post and criminal charges being laid. - 2013-03-18 15:48

If you look at what Muslims do to Christians in: Nigeria, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Saudi, Iran, Pakistan and other Islamic countries - you will understand why there is a growing number of Christians who support Israel (and many Atheists). Moreover, for the same reason as India's new support for Israel, China's extensive investment in the Jewish state and the Buddhist and Hindu world that is mounting their support for Israel. Even groups like Women rights and gay activists support Israel. Makes you wonder why almost all denominations support Israel while only the Muslim, Arab and some 3rd world uneducated and easily manipulated groups despises the Israel (and other non-believers) so much.

      Gary Landman - 2013-03-19 00:55

.. Muslim, Arab and some 3rd world uneducated and easily manipulated groups despises the Israel (and other non-believers and IAN MURRAY) so much.

  • ian.murray.52459615 - 2013-03-17 14:06

I admit that charges are laid. I am just staggered by how frequently it occurs.

      Avremel Niselow - 2013-03-17 14:37

They are no more frequent then in most countries and the scale is generally small.
