Palestinians demand Kerry plan changes

Ramallah - The Palestinians demanded on Thursday that changes be made to US Secretary of State John Kerry's Middle East peace plan, following a meeting in Ramallah, an official said.

"Fatah wants to make some alterations to Kerry's plan... because the proposed ideas are not encouraging for a return to negotiations," a top official of the party of Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas said.

"The central committee is demanding, for a return to talks... that Kerry announce they should be based on the 1967 lines," said Amin Maqbul, secretary general of the ruling Fatah movement's Revolutionary Council.

The vote came after two rounds of intensive talks between Kerry and Abbas on Tuesday and on Wednesday, who is also Fatah leader, in which they thrashed out the plan.

It was the top US diplomat's sixth visit to the region in as many months to try to broker a compromise formula to allow a resumption of direct peace talks after a three-year hiatus.

Israel had rejected Palestinian demands for a publicly declared freeze to all settlement construction in the occupied territories as a condition to resume talks, and Abbas and his negotiating team had referred those terms to the Palestinian political leadership.

The rejection by the leadership of Abbas's own Fatah movement of the blueprint meant that its planned referral to the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, which also includes dissident factions, was unlikely to go ahead.

I was listening to Judge Selby Baqwa talking about his time in Harvard. He said one student asked another (Israeli student) why can't they just resolve their problems with the Palestinians. The Israeli student's answer was "because we don't have a Mandela or a De Klerk" in the Middle East.

Then Gaddafi said "I cannot recognize either the Palestinian State or the Israeli State. The Palestinians are idiots a d the Israelis are idiots." Rockets into Israel must stop. Construction of Jewish settlements on occupied land must also stop.

No Larry wow must be sleeping in Israel. Israel has the right to exist in peace in the international recognised borders but on occupied land and settlers as human shields for the occupation is wrong. Which country has killed more civilians in the ME? Yep kind lets you know who is the real aggressor.

Syria has killed more of its own Syrians in the Middle East over the last two years than those who have been killed in the Israel/Palestinian conflict on both sides, civilan and military personel, over the last two decades. So tell me again how 350 000 Jews in the West Bank are and obstacle to peace, and 1,4 million Muslims in Israel are not?
