Pope's butler to be locked up

2012-10-25 19:33

Vatican City - The pope's butler Paolo Gabriele will be locked up in a Vatican police cell on Thursday after the prosecution decided not to appeal against his 18-month prison sentence for leaking papal documents, the Vatican said.

Gabriele had been under house arrest since he was found guilty on 6 October of stealing documents from Pope Benedict XIV's apartments.

A judicial source said later he would not be appealing the verdict.

And all along I was meant to believe that you could easily walk up to the Pope and proclaim your sins and the rest would be history! How wrong I was. Where is the forgiveness of transgressions we all go to church for?

The Italian judiciary system is a joke! Jailing 7 geologists for failing to properly predict the magnitude of an earthquake and now they're jailing this guy for exposing corruption within the Vatican... Judge: "Oh never mind why you stole those documents and their incriminating content, taking some papers inside a flip file without the authors consent is the real crime here..." Friggen idiots!
