Sporting first for Saudi women

Riyadh - A government-run Saudi Arabian newspaper reports that for the first time in the conservative Muslim country, women will be allowed to attend soccer matches in one of the country's stadiums.

Al-Sharq newspaper on Saturday quoted unnamed officials as saying that women will be able to watch the matches in a new facility that will be completed in 2014 in the western port city of Jeddah.

The officials say that the new stadium will include a family section with private cabins and balconies for women who wish to attend the games.

Saudi Arabia's strict interpretation of Islam prohibits unrelated men and women from mingling. Women and men in Saudi Arabia remain highly segregated and are restricted in how they are allowed to mix in public.

Even if the Chinese take over the whole of Africa and the Near East it would be worthwhile if it could cleanse it of the religious crap. Time for women to stand up. From all over the world to stop the crap. Where is the US president on this? We must NEVER put our freedoms at risk, although if, as stated, the Chinese would make a nice difference to the crap that is going on in some of the Islamic countries. One can't help but conclude that Arab men are inherently just prone to inferiority. Hide the beauty of a woman in case she may just in an off moment blush at the sight of an attractive human. It protects her that only her eyes are visible and of course the male k.k in her life that he doesn't ever have to worry or even be faced with the prospect that he really isn't all that hot in her eyes/mind. As despicable as communism may be, perhaps it is preferable. Why is the world so blind?

I agree with you on every point. The burqa and the oft claimed preference of Muslim women to wear it: domestic dogs will still wag their tails after being forced to wear woolen sweaters in mid-summer. Does this mean they like the treatment? No, it means they are dogs. Dogs are incapable of thinking rationally and making these decisions for themselves. Furthermore, even if a dog could discard the sweater, it may not choose to if it meant losing out on a free meal, or even a walk outside around the block. When asked about it a Muslim man had this to say. "In Islam, it is a woman's duty to dress modestly. A woman getting a sun tan by wearing a skimpy outfit is definitely contrary to the precepts of Islam and, in my opinion, quite outrageous; it's an insult to God and decency. I support flogging as a punishment for getting a sun tan by dressing immodestly. Too many people are lewd and immoral, and it's necessary to enforce decency with a little bit of pain". - A Muslim. Nice!

After 1400 years they are now allowed to look at other men's legs in a stadium. That is progress!!! LOL!

When I read the headline I thought for a moment that they would be allowed to compete in sack races.

      Hahaha, good one!

Go on with your taunts and blasphemy. It won't change the fact that Muslim women are dressing far more modestly and decently than women in the West. Even if the whole world criticises our women, at least the Creator is pleased with them and that's all that matters. On the Day of Judgement, you atheists and other non-Muslims blasphemers will certainly regret your taunts.

The universe never was created and hence is indestructible. Slavery on the other hand should be abolished.
