Turkey to help fight ISIS along border

 Washington - The US and Turkey will co-operate to clear the last stretch of the Turkish-Syrian border that is controlled by Islamic State, senior US officials say.

The details of the effort along the 80km stretch were still being decided, but would rely on moderate Syrian opposition forces on the ground and not US or Turkish troops, said an official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The effort would not establish a no-fly zone as Turkey has long sought, but aimed to oust Islamic State militants from the border area, officials said.
