UK protesters bomb police, attack bank

2011-03-26 17:48

London - Police say protesters have thrown paint bombs and light bulbs filled with ammonia at officers in London's centre during a demonstration against budget cuts.

London's Metropolitan Police said on Saturday a group of black-clad demonstrators also threw paint bombs at shops and banks on the main shopping streets of Oxford Street and New Bond Street. Protesters broke the window of the local HSBC bank and attacked an ambulance. Police were forced to close Piccadilly Circus. At least 14 protesters were injured.

The group had broken away from a larger march organized by the Trade Union Council to protest against government cuts to public services.

Organizers say the main demonstration has attracted at least 100 000 people and is otherwise peaceful.

    Let chaos reign

Chaos, well yes and no. The point where thousands of people marched, I take it at most three people participating in the actual breaking of the banks's window. You can hardly call that bring the words Bomb and Attack into the conversation. Are you trying to make us look at marches based on freedom as bad? (for some undisclosed reason), just wondering...?

No matter where in the world you go, people descend to a common low when they're angry.

Were the instigators perhaps also delegates at the recent shambolic Youth Festival where they learned new games to play?

@-AP. Chaos, well yes and no. The point where thousands of people marched, I take it at most three people participating in the actual breaking of the banks's window, that's the worst that happens? You can hardly link that to Bomb and Attack as stated by the header of the article. Are you trying to make us look at marches based on freedom as bad? (for some undisclosed reason), just wondering...?

To General, Andy, Darkside, Johan ---- It's like the ANCYL conference taught them. Success in Egypt means we can copycat anywhere in the world and get our way. As I said before --- Democracy = mob-rule = ANARCHY. Goodbye tolerance, understanding, empathy and loving your neighbour. Enter, self-gratification and "I want -- or else" attitude.

Light bulbs and paint, ? bombs and attacks, come on, very small element, getting edgy, no need to start using live amo yet.
