UN unable to reach Syria massacre site

Damascus - The Syrian army is preventing UN observers from reaching a region where at least 55 people were reported killed by pro-regime militants, the head of the UN mission in Syria said Thursday.

"The UN Supervision Mission in Syria dispatched UN observers to Al-Kubeir early on Thursday morning to verify reports of large-scale killings in the village," General Robert Mood said.

He said the observers were stopped at Syrian army checkpoints and in some cases turned back. He said civilians were also stopping the monitors.

"We are receiving information from residents of the area that the safety of our observers is at risk if we enter [the] village of Al-Kubeir," Mood said.

Assad the self-proclaimed but heartless surgeon dissecting human lives so he can stay in power. It will not work, nor should it. It's so obvious, so stark now, isn't it. Russians and Chinese people the world over you should feel deep remorse at what your governments are doing. It is unconscionable.

Al-Assad. He was in my one call of duty games and boy was he a bad ass! seems like reality isn't to far from fiction these days...

Maybe we should ask Fidel and Patrick , why this terrorist assad, does not allow the UN, or the media to go to Al-Kubeir. This dog is not stupid, if it were the opposition or the FSA, who committed these atrocities, he would have helicoptered the UN and the media, right into this town. This assad is a smart MASS MURDERER !!!

"He said civilians were also stopping the monitors." You never read the articles, do you, but quick at switching your fingers before your brain.

Fidel, No, again, you don't understand. It is far more significant that this assad thug, does not want the UN, to go to these places where massacres occur, than a handful of civilians, who could possibly be supporters of this mass murderer!!
