Sofia - US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed on Sunday to strengthen existing sanctions against the Syrian regime and seek further ones to dry up funding and arms shipments.

"We will work to seek regional and national sanctions against Syria and strengthened the ones we have.

"They will be implemented to the fullest to dry up the sources of funding and the arms shipments that are keeping the regime's war machine going", Clinton told journalists in Sofia on Sunday.

"We will work to expose those who are still funding the regime and sending it weapons that are used against defenceless Syrians, including women and children," the US top diplomat added.

She expressed regret at the failed UN sanctions vote against Syria on Saturday calling it "a travesty".

Exactly....It's also a travesty when you use your veto at the UN against any resolution condemming Israel aggression !!

Because they don’t see it as aggression - they see it as self-defence and rightly so. One can’t fire rockets and at the same time cry to the UN that they are being attacked. Don’t play with fire and there will be no smoke.

And what ofthe Palestinian attacking Isreal Shahied?

      Fred - 2012-02-06 21:04

What has Israel got to do with the murderous technocrat Assad and his cronies slaughtering Syrians every day?

The American decision to vote immediately stunned the Russians. Usually, on these issues it is customary to work behind the scenes, in a bid to reach understandings before calling for a vote, yet the massacre in Homs did not allow the Americans to wait. They recognized an opportunity and decided to put the pedal to the metal. The veto imposed by Russia and China a few hours later did not make much difference, because the resolution which the two states refused to endorse was toothless in any case. America's objective was to portray the United States as supporting the Arab masses hungry for political freedom – in the face of Russia and China, which support a tyrant who slaughters his own people.

For all the usual suspects like Jaba - Nato has military personel posted at oil installations in Libya to ensure that oil is siphoned to US and Europe, LIbyans are suffering at the hands of the armed bandits collectively known as the NTC, Russsia and China do not want a repeat of the Libya scenario in Syria as they can see through the Western agenda.

You too are hopelessly wrong and blind. Wake up.
