Vatican meeting urges Islam outreach

Vatican City - The world's Catholic bishops have called for intensified outreach to Muslims, saying dialogue is difficult but must continue.

The bishops have been meeting at the Vatican for three weeks to chart the church's future amid desertions of the faithful in much of once-staunchly Christian Europe and the West.

The bishops made 58 proposals to Pope Benedict XVI to encourage a "new evangelisation" to attract new faithful and woo back Catholics who have left.

The church's relations with Islam have been a constant theme in the speeches delivered by some of the 262 prelates gathered, with some even openly speaking about the possibility of Muslim conversions.

But attacks on Christians in largely Muslim countries have also been a concern, and the bishops proposed a standing commission to press for religious liberty.

The only consensus he'll get ,is to meet all their demands fullstop.

I'd rather die than convert to Islam, and you can be sure there will be no shortage of muslims ready to execute me.

Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate. Quran 9:73

Aaaah, the old \quote out of context trick\ seems it still works on some fools. By the way the translation is not \make war\ as you copied and pasted from your anti-islam websites, the more correct translation is \strive against them\. This is for those who attacked the muslims so they were encouraged to fight back like any normal person would do.
