Rome (dpa) - A 122.4m long baguette has been baked and served to visitors at Milan's Expo world fair, a feat officially recognised as a Guinness World Record.

A 27-strong team of Italian and French bakers, including the head of the Paris chamber of bakers and patissiers, worked together on Sunday to prepare the record-breaking loaf of bread, which took six hours to bake, Expo said in a statement.

The baguette was later filled with hazelnut spread Nutella, which sponsored the initiative, cut into 2 400 pieces and distributed to visitors.

The previous record for the world's longest baguette was 111m, which was prepared in a supermarket in Vietnam six years ago.

Another Guinness record was made in June at Milan's Expo, which runs until October 31 and focuses on food and nutrition...the world's longest pizza, measuring 1.6km.
