Lima - A judge in Peru has ordered jail for a 64-year-old American who police say headed a prostitution ring that for more than a decade offered sex with children to an international clientele.

Judge Richard Concepcion on Monday ordered 18 months of preventative detention while Joshua David Brown is investigated. Brown was arrested December 5 in Lima. Police said he was born in New Hampshire but had no additional information on past US residency.

The head of the human trafficking division of Peru's police, General Oscar Gonzalez, told reporters that Brown had a restricted-access Internet forum called "International Sex Guide" where he offered sex with minors to an exclusive clientele.

The judge also ordered preventative detention for three Peruvians, one of whom allegedly offered her 7- and 14-year-old daughters for sex.
