A woman has been left devastated after losing her husband, former partner and son in separate car accidents.

Twelve-year-old Taylor Tolley was hit by a car in Bridlington in East Yorkshire, England, on Friday and died in hospital the next day, reports Metro.

Humberside police said in a statement the boy had been crossing the street when the incident happened. He was airlifted to hospital but succumbed to serious head injuries. "Police have specialist officers who are supporting his family."

According to Daily Mail, Taylor's grieving mother, Katie Jo, revealed that she'd suffered the traumatic loss of her son's stepfather, Andy (29), in a motorbike accident in September.

Andy was riding his beloved Yamaha R6 days after his eighth wedding anniversary when the accident happened.

Taylor’s father, Stewart Swift, also died in a car crash in May 2007.  His car crashed into a tree and he succumbed to his injuries died four days after.

Family friend Sherri Miller wrote on a GofundMe page saying: "As everyone may be aware Katie Jo Tolley lost her little boy this morning, which is every parent's worst nightmare.

"Totally devastated for the family to be going through this for the third time now.

"Taylor's stepdad Andy Tolley, 29, was killed in a motorcycle accident five months ago, which was 11 years after his dad Stewart Swift died after crashing into a tree when he was 18. Mrs Tolley had been married for eight years."

Sherri launched the Gofundme appeal for Katie and managed to raise £4 439 (about R77 680) of their initial goal of £5 000 (R87 500) within 24 hours.
