Many couldn’t help but feel sorry for the dog after its owner “discovered” Donald Trump in his ear.

“Donald Trump found in a dog's ear,” @FacePics captioned the picture on Twitter shared 24 000 times and boasting more than 63 000 likes.

Most tweeps couldn’t stop laughing at the image of the inside of the beagle’s ear that resembles the US president, even though one or two thought it was creepy.

“Imagine all the bullshit that poor dog has to listen to . . .” @Pinku_Rinku quipped.

“Poor dog,” many commented.

The dog’s owner, Jade Robinson from the UK, says the photo of Chief, the family’s two-year-old beagle, was taken for their vet.

She told Mirror UK she saw nothing “remarkable” about the picture even though she must have zoomed in about 20 times.

“It was my eagle-eyed friend who pointed it out. I thought I’d share this with my Facebook friends but never thought it would be that popular,” she wrote on JustGiving, a crowdfunding site.

She said Chief has “very distinctive long ears, they spend a lot of time scraping the ground sniffing for lovely smells”.

This has led to his ears trapping dirt, which has since caused complications.

“Unfortunately, as Chief doesn’t like his ears to be touched, he now needs to be sedated to start investigations on what’s causing inflammation/irritation and head swinging.”

Jade is trying to raise about R8 000 through crowdfunding for vet’s treatment and has about R707 so far, according to the site.

She said she’s glad that her beagle is putting a smile on people’s face. “There’s a lot of negativity on the internet and to me, it’s the little things that make me smile and it’s nice to know Chief has made people smile – even if it’s his ear," she said on Mirror UK.
