London - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Queen Elizabeth 11 for talks on Friday.

A few dozen supporters waved British and Indian flags at the gates to the Queen's London residence, Buckingham Palace, where Modi had a private lunch with the Royal family.

The highlight of Modi's visit is his Wembley speech to up to 700 000 people, mostly from the 1.5-million-strong British-Indian community.

British Prime Minister David Cameron is scheduled to introduce Modi at the four-hour UK Welcomes Modi event, which coincides with the traditional Hindu Diwali, or "festival of lights," and features singers, dancers and a fireworks display.

Modi said the event would be "an expression of joy for all that we share: values, institutions, political system, sports, culture and art."

After his talks with Modi Thursday, Cameron said the two nations had signed commercial agreements worth more than £9 billion.
