A lottery winner in Jamaica claimed his $1,1 million (about R14,85 million) prize money wearing the villain’s mask from the Scream horror movie franchise in a bid to remain anonymous.

The man, who’s been identified only as A. Campbell, appeared at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica, wearing a white cape, black gloves and the Scream mask to collect his prize, which is worth about 158 million Jamaican dollars, The Washington Post reports.T

The lotto winner said he wore the disguise so that his family members wouldn’t bother him for cash. He even waited 52 days to claim his prize so as not to arouse suspicion, Mirror UK reports.

“I have a little business, so I plan to make it bigger, buy an apartment. I love to have money,” Campbell said about his plans for the money.

The shock of the win was so great to Campbell, who is the 17th winner of the Super Lotto in Jamaica, that he threw up when he realised he’d won, the Jamaica Star reports.

“I found out [I won] the same night [he’d bought the ticket],” he said. “Normally, I would write down the numbers from the [televised] draw, eat and then go and check my numbers. I looked at my ticket [that night] and ran into my bathroom and said: ‘I won! I won!’ “

According to Fox News, Campbell isn’t the first Jamaican lotto winner to protect their identity. In June last year, a woman wore a winking emoji face mask to conceal her face.
