2016-07-21 14:19

Sydney - A bomb squad was investigating a car that was driven into a parking garage at a suburban Sydney police station on Thursday evening, police said.

The driver of the car was arrested, New South Wales police said in a statement. No one has been hurt.

Police said the circumstances behind the man's presence at the station were still being investigated.

A perimeter was established around the station in the western suburb of Merrylands as a precaution, police said. They said they had no other information.

Reports say the car was carrying gas cylinders, with a police source saying the incident was a "very deliberate attack" on the police station.
