A medical graduate has donated 67% of his liver to save his beloved primary school teacher’s life.

Chen Ze Rong from Singapore knew his former teacher Liang Feng Pin from when he attended primary school in Eastern Malaysia.

The 25-year-old was also in the class with Liang’s daughter, Zheng Zi Jing, whom he was close pals with.

When Chen discovered his old teacher needed a liver transplant, he offered to help. The life-saving operation took place in Chen’s hometown of Singapore.

According to local media, the operation was a success and they’re both recovering in hospital.

Chen is reportedly suffering from jaundice but medical experts believe he’ll improve as his liver regenerates.

While the young man is expected to be discharged from hospital in seven days, the teacher will remain there for at least one month, depending on her recovery.

Doctor’s said the first six months after such a high-risk operation are the most crucial.

Fortunately, medical reports reveal that Liang’s body hasn’t rejected her former student’s liver.

The teacher’s daughter said on social media that her mother is on life support, but is breathing unaided and recovering well.

She also thanked her old friend, calling his donation "miraculous" and said she never imagined Chen would be the person to save her mom’s life.
