Karen Wakefield claims her home in Manchester in the UK has been haunted by an apparition called Malcolm for over 13 years, The Mirror reports.

In fact, she and Malcolm are so well acquainted he even puts on the kettle for guests and mimics her voice – and he gets told off when he misbehaves.

“I’ll chat to him and tell him off if he’s acting up. It’s the best way to be,” she told the Mirror.

The stay-at-home mom has become so used to her supernatural housemate that she even signs his name on Christmas cards to loved ones, according to The Express.

Malcolm’s name was revealed through a Ouija board that Karen uses to communicate with him, she says.

Through the board, Karen discovered Malcolm died at the age of 57 in 1858.

Karen has had a connection with the spiritual world since she was a little girl, she says.

In 2004, the self-proclaimed psychic moved into the home with her partner Paul Dawson, and daughter, Madison. And that’s when the progression of Malcolm’s ghostly spiritual presence began.

“At first, I’d just hear odd smashes, or come into the kitchen to find all the drawers open, with their contents on the floor,” she says.

“One time, I felt a tug on my dressing gown, but when I turned around, there was nobody anywhere near me.”

Karen, Paul and Madison have now decided to make Malcolm part of the family – they even sign his name on Christmas cards.

The family go on ghost hunts via Facebook Live, where people around the globe tune in to help them catch a glimpse of Malcolm.

Karen believes her ghostly pal loves all the attention. “His head is swelling,” she commented on Facebook.

While there are plenty of folks who think Karen is just a bit loopy, her friends were quick to defend her online.

“Malcom is a real spirit and will be loving all this fame,” one of them wrote on Facebook. “He doesn’t like a lot of strangers in Karen’s home. Very protective of Karen he likes to be top dog.”
