Puslinch - More than 40 racehorses have died in a stable fire in Canada.

The fire began late on Monday at the Classy Lane Stables Training Centre in Puslinch, Ontario. Firefighters from several communities outside Toronto fought the blaze.

Barb Miller owns the facility with her husband Jamie and she says at least 43 horses died.

Miller says it is too early to speculate on the cause of the blaze.

She says all of the horses are owned by trainers who race them at the Mohawk, Woodbine and Flamboro Downs racetracks in southern Ontario.
