Edgarton - President Barack Obama is interrupting his summer vacation to do some campaigning for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee.

Obama is slated to headline a Democratic Party reception on Monday on Martha's Vineyard, the tiny Massachusetts island where he's been vacationing with his family.

The event is taking place at a private residence in Chilmark, the town where the president is renting a vacation home.

The White House says Obama will deliver remarks and take questions from contributors.

Clinton is not expected to attend Monday's event. She'll be campaigning in Pennsylvania with Vice President Joe Biden.

Obama has said there's never been anyone more qualified than Clinton to be president. He has dismissed her Republican opponent, New York businessman Donald Trump, as "unfit" for office.
