Randallstown — Baltimore County police say an armed woman who
barricaded herself and a child inside a suburban Baltimore apartment has been
shot and killed by officers. Authorities say the child was shot in an extremity
and taken to a hospital.
The department said in a series of Tweets that detectives went to
the apartment in Randallstown about 09:25 on Monday to serve an arrest warrant.
Police say the woman named in the warrant was armed and had a child with her.
It was not immediately clear the relationship between the woman and the child.
Police say the detectives retreated and called for backup.
The department Tweeted at 17:13 that the woman had been shot and
killed and the child was taken to a hospital.
