A suspected gunman is facing hate crime charges after a mass shooting at a synagogue baby-naming ceremony in the US.

Eleven people were killed and four police officers are among the injured.

Robert Bowers, 46, is facing 29 charges for the attack at the Tree of Life synagogue in the city of Pittsburgh.

If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
