Cape Town – An unlikely source predicted Donald Trump’s US election victory years before the billionaire even considered running for office…  

The hit American TV show The Simpsons aired an episode in early 2000 showing the cartoon family’s outspoken daughter Lisa Simpson taking office after a Trump presidency.

In the clip, Simpson asks her secretary of state how bad the nation’s budget crunch is to which he responds “we’re broke”.

In 2015, the series broadcast another episode concerning Trump, this time after he had announced he was throwing his hat into the presidential ring.

In it, Homer goes on a journey inside Trump’s infamous hairpiece.
