“Will you marry me,” is one of the most beautiful questions you’ll ever hear – but perhaps not on Halloween.

Especially if saying no could cost you your life.

This was the gruesome end for 19-year-old Tara Serino of Pennsylvania in the US. Her boyfriend, Christopher Tucker (34), asked her to marry him at his house in Berks County on Halloween, NBC News reports.

When she said no, he allegedly broke her neck, strangled her, poked her eyes out and beat her with an axe, Upper Macungie Police said.

According to The Mirror, Christopher claims that after Tara refused his proposal she told him that she was also seeing other men.

After the brutal killing, he wrapped her body in a mat and fled.

The alleged murderer was later found in Illinois and taken into custody when he tried to break into a farm in the region.

Police claim that he’s confessed to the grisly murder.

He apparently told authorities that Tara asked him to kill her.
