KTVA's news team in Anchorage were among those badly shaken by an earthquake on Friday with officials describing a magnitude 7.0 quake. The powerful quake struck shortly before 08.30 local time. It damaged nearby businesses and sent shockwaves through homes.

The quake sparked a tsunami warning for the Cook Inlet area and southern Kenai Peninsula, although the warning was cancelled soon afterwards. And while no injuries were immediately reported, city and state officials are still assessing the damage.
