WATCH: Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib become first two Muslim American women elected to US congress

Ilhan Omar will represent Minnesota while Rashida Tlaib will be Michigan's representative.

Omar was elected as the first Somali-American legislator in 2016 and will now be the first Congress member to wear a headscarf.  

In 2008, Tlaib became the first Muslim woman to be elected state representative.
