WATCH: Nasa lander prepares to touch down on Mars

2018-11-26 19:32

A spacecraft hurtling towards Mars will be the first to study the deep interior of the planet, if it survives the landing.

The InSight probe is scheduled to arrive on Martian soil at around  GMT on November 26.

It must survive the high-speed approach and scorching heat of entering the Red Planet’s atmosphere.

NASA is hoping the craft will beat the odds and make a gentle landing on the surface of Mars.

If successful, the probe will send information back allowing scientists to learn about the planet.
