A woman whose daughter hanged herself earlier this month was found dead in a garage in Wiltshire, England, days after her daughter’s death.

Beverley Dickenson (49), who worked as a gardener on the 6 000-hectare Earl of Pembroke’s Wilton Estate, was found dead by her husband, David, only a week after her daughter Charlotte Dunne’s (26) tragic death, Metro UK reports.

“Believe me, you can never tell when someone is going to do it. My sister was fine, so was my mum. There was nothing to be aware about,” Beverley’s son Joe told The Times.

In a Facebook post, Charlotte’s dad Neil wrote, “Myself, Joe and the whole family would like to say a big thank you for the love we have received through this difficult time. We have felt an amazing amount of kindness from those of you who knew Charlotte. It is clear to see that she touched so many lives.”

The family was able to raise more than £5 200 (about R93 600) towards funeral costs, reports Daily Mail online. The Reverent Mark Wood, before delivering his sermon yesterday said, “We are mourning them both. This is heartbreaking – it is terribly sad. I will certainly be saying prayers for them at my services today.”

Samantha Stephens, who knew Charlotte well, initially set up the fundraiser with a goal of raising £3 000 (about R54 000). “Charlotte was caring, kind, funny and beautiful and I know that we will all miss her deeply,” she said of the 26-year-old.

“It is so important now to cherish the wonderful memories we shared with her, and to remember that this isn’t goodbye forever.”

An inquest into Charlotte’s death found she’d died from hanging herself at her home. Another inquest into Beverley’s death was heard on June 17 and also determined that she’d hanged herself. Both inquests have now been adjourned.

“As a town we feel extremely sad at what has happened,” Wilton mayor Peter Edge said.
