One Direction are “too lazy” to build a proper rider, according to Liam Payne. The 21-year-old pop star is one-fifth of the group, also comprised of Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles.

And according to Liam, the quintet simply can’t get it together enough to make demands about what they want backstage.

“We're too lazy to make a rider,” he mused to British magazine heat while the band attended the BBC Music Awards in London on Thursday night.

The group has managed to scramble up a list of a few of their favourites. But Liam insists they’re no divas, joking their tastes simply aren’t well refined.

“It's like being back at school and looking at your lunchbox. So we're looking at lunchables, Dairylea dunkers, Pot Noodles - it's only £2 our rider,” he insisted.

The crooners are meanwhile looking forward to releasing their music on vinyl. It’s something Niall was particularly thrilled to announce.

“I had a lot of vinyl records when I was younger. So to have our stuff on vinyl is so exciting,” he said.

One Direction are currently promoting new album Four and gearing up for their On the Road Again Tour next year.

The trek kicks off February 7 in Sydney and will continue across Australia through the end of the month before heading to Asia, South Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America.

They return to Europe once again in September, playing until the end of October where they will wrap up the final leg in Sheffield October 31.
