Are you also hooked on the Cape Town band Beatenberg’s catchy tune Chelsea Blakemore? Here are five things you need to know about the sexy trio!

The Cape Town-based group was founded by Matthew Field (vocals, guitar), Ross Dorkin (bass) and Robin Brink (drums) in 2008. Matthew got inspiration for their band name when he saw a sketch of the Swiss town Beatenberg in a book of lectures on modern art by the Swiss-German expressionist Paul Klee.

Their hit Chelsea Blakemore was inspired by Ross’ ex-girlfriend, who’s also a friend of the band.

They’re influenced by jazz, classical and world music, as well as artists, writers and poets, and would love to collaborate with local producer and DJ Black Coffee, and Korean singer Psy.

They say fans would be surprised to know how strange their sense of humour gets at times! They also have a talent for Instagram and a weird habit of eating at posh restaurants.

Their track Pluto (Remember You) – a collaboration with DJ Clock – is a massive radio hit.
