You can catch some Leon Schuster classics this Friday and Sunday, and if you’re in the mood for action who better to provide it than martial arts master Jackie Chan? There are also some quality movies for the kids.

Friday 24 January

Mama Jack

SABC3 8.30 pm

If you need some light relief, a Leon Schuster movie is just the thing. This is the one where he tries to hide from the cops by dressing up as a domestic worker in a well-to-do suburb. But slaving behind a stove and ironing board isn’t as easy as he thought…

Snake In The Eagle’s Shadow

e.tv 8:30 pm

If you’d prefer action, catch Jackie Chan in this movie about a young boy who works as a cleaner in a kung fu school and learns martial arts by staying late at night and watching the dojo sensei perfect his art.

Saturday 25 January

The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader

e.tv 8 pm

A fun adventure for the kids. This time Lucy, Edmund and their cousin Eustace are back in the magical kingdom and meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea on his royal ship, the Dawn Treader.

Sunday 26 January

Bee Movie

e.tv 1 pm

Jerry Seinfeld is the voice of the lead character in this cute animated movie about a bee who makes a special trip outside the hive and finds out humans are stealing bees’ honey. He decides to sue humankind. There’s a funny “cameo” by Larry King.

Mr Bones 2

SABC3 7.30 pm

There’s a double dose for Leon Schuster fans this weekend. This flick sees the funnyman once again play popular white sangoma Dr Bones. He’s got his work cut out for him when his ancestor – also a white sangoma – time-travels to modern-day Durban to return a cursed gem to its rightful owner.
