The set of Downton Abbey has seen its fair share of royals, but the crew were left particularly starstruck when the Duchess of Cambridge – and her soon-to-be-born prince or princess – paid them a visit.

Kate, who is a longtime fan of the ITV period drama, which follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the family's classic Georgian country house, was radiant as ever in a classic cream coat by from high street maternity label JoJo Maman Bébé.

The mother-of-two-to-be was welcomed to Ealing Studios by the drama's creator Julian Fellowes, who oversaw her tour of the make-up, costume and set-building departments of the studios, where all the servants quarters and bedroom scenes are filmed. Kate also rubbed shoulders with the series' stars Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern (Lord and Lady Grantham) and Joanne Froggatt (who plays lady's maid Anna).
She was particularly delighted with four-year-old Zac Barker, who plays Mary Crawley's son Master George. The little actor was shy as he presented the duchess with a toy train for Prince George.
Kate, now almost eight months pregnant, is due to give birth next month.
