Adele is honoured by Queen Elizabeth

Adele is set to receive her Most Excellent Order of the British Empire at the Buckingham Palace tomorrow.

British musician Adele Adkins will be rubbing shoulders with royalty at Buckingham Palace tomorrow, where she will accept an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).

She was named for the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for her services to the music industry, making her Miss Adele Adkins MBE.

Adele bagged several awards over the years. She was listed as number five on VH1’s 100 Greatest Women in Music last year. Times magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world for 2012.

This year she was assessed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom by Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4.

Even the former Prime Minister of Britain, Gordon Brown wrote a letter to the songbird in 2009, saying: “With the troubles that the country is in financially, you’re a light at the end of the tunnel”.

The 25-year-old singer gave birth to son Angelo last year October and has been staying out of the public eye since.
