Genital mutilator-accused Peter Frederiksen's is expected back in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

During his last appearance in November, Frederiksen was denied bail by Magistrate Marlene Marais.

She told the court that the Danish man had no ties in the country and that his children in South Africa could not be regarded as ties because he also had children in Denmark.

There was also a high likelihood he could intimidate witnesses, she said.

Frederiksen, 63, faces charges including assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, manufacturing  child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography, conspiracy to murder and bigamy.

He is being investigated for the murder of his wife, 28-year-old Anna Matseliso Molise, who was gunned down in Lesotho following his arrest. She was expected to be a key State witness in the case against her husband.

During a cross-examination by prosecutor Amanda Bester, Frederiksen  told the court that he learnt of his wife’s death through the media.
