Amber Rose insists she was not bashing Beyonce when she questioned why the singer doesn't face the same criticism as Kim Kardashian.

Kanye West's ex-girlfriend appeared to take a swipe at Beyonce on Monday, questioning why the Drunk in Love singer always gets a pass for her risque performances.

"If we could sing, it would be OK if we were on stage half-naked," she told The Daily Beast. "We all love Beyonce, but she's on stage half-naked and twerking all the time, yet people say, 'Oh, she has talent so she's able to do that'.

"We don't have the talent that Beyonce has, so we get criticised as former sex workers, but at the end of the day we're just women - we're all women - and we should all embrace each other."

After her comments, Amber was attacked by Beyonce's loyal fans, but she is now explaining she was just talking about "classism" and not bashing the singer.

"Was just speaking on Classism," she writes on Twitter. "Look it up maybe it applies to ur life. Don't take my words out of context I cried twice when I met (Beyonce) Lol (laugh out loud)..."

"I'm apart of the Beyhive (Beyonce's fans)...," she continues. "I mentioned her cuz she is the most talented and beautiful..."

Amber, a former stripper, hit headlines last week when she jumped to the defence of Kim Kardashian after the reality TV star posted her now infamous nude selfie - and was criticised by fellow celebrities, including Bette Midler and Chloe Grace Moretz.

"I don't know u well but I saw u speak about s**t shaming and as u know I'm an activist feminist so it spoke to me," Amber wrote in an Instagram post. "Being S**t shamed and ridiculed is not fun, it's hurtful and mean. Us women deal with it every day, and I'm happy u can speak openly on this now, because if anyone knows what it's like to be S**t Shamed it's u! Live it Kim! Make a difference and speak on it! Not only when it's convenient for u, but when u can help others. (sic)"

She also took aim at pop star Pink after the Trouble singer took a thinly veiled shot at Kim in a post on International Women's Day, writing, "Shout out to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their 'magic' that they were born with, that only they possess", the 36-year-old singer tweeted. "It may not ever bring you as much 'attention' or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your t**s and a**es, but women like you don't need that kind of 'attention'."

Amber felt Pink was being hypocritical and accused her of classism on Instagram, writing, "Damn Pink we were all born naked society sexualizes our breast and bodies. If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that's none of ur (sic) business or anyone else's...

"That's our problem! We're so quick to down each other instead of uplifting! Pink, We've seen u damn near naked swinging from a rope (Beautifully) but what's the difference between a rope, a pole and a pic on Instagram? Classism. Because u (sic) sing while ur half naked does that make it 'Classy' or is it because u have a 'talent'? I'm not dissing at all Pink just curious after u said 'You'll never have to make a silly excuse for yourself (sic).'"
