America's jazz sensation Fred Wesley coming to SA

America’s legendary jazz, blues and R&B musician “Funky” Fred Wesley is coming to SA for one night only.

He's also been performing in the UK and Paris in recent months and is touring Japan this month.

Fred is best known for his work with James Brown in the 1960s and 1970s.

Rap star Nas and pop sensation Janet Jackson are among the scored of artists who have sampled Fred’s work.

According to JT Communications, Fred began his career playing for Ike and Tina Turner.

He is a veteran of the Count Basie Orchestra, having also worked with an illustrious variety of artists such as Ray Charles, Van Morrison, Usher, Pancho Sanchez, the SOS Band and Cameo.

This 71-year-old musician will be performing at The Wits Theatre on 29 Novemeber 2014 and there are only 380 seats available. The tickets will go for R120.
