Wimbledon 2014 kicked off today, with last year's winner, Andy Murray, taking time to pose for a fan's selfie.

Andy Murray found time to pause and pose for a fan's selfie before his first match Monday as Wimbledon's defending champion.

Walking across the grounds at the All England Club less than two hours ahead of his 2014 Centre Court debut, Murray passed a gate where a man and woman shouted out a request for a picture.

With a white towel draped around his neck, a racket bag on his shoulder, and a blue pair of sneakers in his hand, Murray wandered over and obliged.

Here's a photo of their photo:

Rafael Nadal also stopped to make some fan's day by appearing in a picture.

TRADITION!: The first ball was still an hour away from being hit and the opening-day crowds at Wimbledon were already getting into the tradition of the tennis tournament with the most, well, tradition.

Under a sunny sky, patrons sipped their Pimm's, a popular gin-based liquor available for 7.80 pounds (R140) at the All England Club, and stopped by booths selling strawberries and cream for 2.50 pounds (R45).

Virginia Wade, the 1977 Wimbledon champion, chatted with former player Tony Roche by a ticket booth near the main entrance. Both said hello to John Lloyd, a former player who was once married to Chris Evert.
