Angelina: I trust Brad implicitly

Angelina Jolie has opened up about her “dysfunctional” honeymoon.

The 39-year-old actress married Brad Pitt at their French estate back in August. But the pair didn’t have time for a traditional post-wedding holiday, instead spending their first days as newlyweds shooting Angelina’s new movie By the Sea.

And Angelina told Al Roker on The Today Show that the process was certainly an unusual one.

"It was like a honeymoon," she revealed. "Just [it was] like on-screen and a dysfunctional one."

However, Angelina said she and Brad quickly got used to shooting together. And the mother-of-six also told Al that her husband is the person she trusts most in the world.

"As a director, you want to help your actor," she said. "As a wife, you really want to help your husband. So you want everything to be right for them. But there's something we found, which is if you work with the person you love and trust most in this world, it's pretty great."

Before the release of By the Sea, Angelina has been promoting her latest project Unbroken. However, her promo duties were interrupted when she was struck down with chicken pox recently – causing her to miss the Los Angeles premiere of the film.

"It was so absurd," she said. "What was even stranger, during the day before, I was doing interviews, and I was like, 'what is happening?!'"

So in Angelina’s place, Brad and their three children Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, and eight-year-old Shiloh attended.

But Angelina says her brood had no problem making an appearance at the red carpet event.

"It was really fun that my kids took the mantle," she said. "They took it very seriously when I said, 'You've got to represent mom. You gotta do this for me.’”
