Arnold Schwarzenegger will earn $3 million to star in an advertisement.

The Terminator actor has agreed to star in a humorous Super Bowl commercial for Bud Light and will pick up the huge pay cheque for the short clip.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Arnold has shot a series of ads in Japan but pretty much hasn't done anything in the US. Persuading him to promote a beer is a big coup for Bud Light."

The former Governor of California is the latest famous face to sign up for one of the lucrative Super Bowl commercials - which cost advertisers $4 million per slot.

SodaStream will air an ad featuring Scarlett Johansson during the fourth quarter, while Lawrence Fishburne will reprise his iconic Matrix character Morpheus to appear in a commercial for Kia Motors' new K900 luxury sedan in an expected parody of a scene from the first film in the franchise.

Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong will feature in Jaguar's advertisement, which is based on British movie bad guys.

David Beckham will promote his H&M David Beckham Bodywear line in another commercial during the celebrated sporting event on February 2.
