Ebola has taken the lives of 2800 people throughout West Africa.

A hospital in Western Australia says it is treating a patient as a suspected Ebola case.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth said in a statement Tuesday that it has one patient being tested for the virus. Ebola has been blamed for about 2800 deaths throughout West Africa from the worst outbreak in history.

The hospital says the risk of people with Ebola traveling to Australia is very low.

A spokeswoman declined to release further details about the patient due to confidentiality rules.

There have been no confirmed Ebola cases in Australia from the recent outbreak in Africa. Two weeks ago, a hospital in Queensland state said it was treating a patient for suspected Ebola, but later determined the man did not have the disease.
