Blake Lively finds “creating something” the best stress reliever.

The former Gossip Girl actress gave birth to her first child, a daughter, in December with husband Ryan Reynolds. And it seems that when the couple aren’t tending to their newborn, they enjoy working in the garage together.

“Creating something I can use,” she explained when asked by O, The Oprah Magazine about her best stress reliever. “I’ll knit or cook – or work on a motorcycle, a skill my husband is teaching me. One of my latest projects was painting nature-inspired throw pillows.”

Another thing the 27-year-old enjoys doing when she’s not working is exploring New York City. Despite the fact the show that made her famous was filmed there, she hasn’t grown tired of the Big Apple.

“It’s constantly changing. I’ll go back to an area I visited four years ago, and it’s completely different,” she explained. “But that’s a good thing because it means there will always be new neighbourhoods to eat my way through.”

But as much as Blake likes her hobbies and free time, her number one priority is her daughter. She hopes that she can create the same special memories with her little girl that her own mother did with her as a child.

“My mom liked to infuse my life with a lot of magic,” she recalled. “When she read my fortune cookies, the predictions were full of princesses and castles and jewels and pirates. When I got old enough to read them, I was shocked to find out how boring they really were!”
