Michael Jackson’s youngest son Blanket has officially changed his name to Bigi.

The 13-year-old cites constant bullying as his reason amid claims that he has never liked the name. His new moniker, which is of German origin, means idealistic, sensitive, and inspirational. 'Going by Blanket made him a much easier target for ridicule' Blanket, er, Bigi, who Michael famously held over a balcony as a baby, was listed as Bigi Jackson in his most recent yearbook photo.

The teen, who was seven when his father passed, is legally named Prince Michael Jackson, but his father had decided to refer to him as Blanket when he was infant. According to an insider; “his school mates have always been slightly mean to him because of their jealousy over who he is and going by Blanket made him a much easier target for ridicule”.

The source added that Blanket, or Bigi; “always thought that the name Blanket sounded so stupid and resented his father for calling him that.”

After years of being home-schooled Katherine Jackson (Michael’s mom and the child’s legal guardian) believed that Blanket needed exposure to other students and decided to enroll him at  The Buckley School in California. The prestigious private school boasts famous alumni such as Rashida Jones, Alyssa Milano, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.

His older brother, Prince Michael Jackson graduated with honors from Buckley this month will attend Loyola Marymount University in September.
