Meredith McKay has the perfect life: a job she’s good at, a devoted boyfriend and plenty of friends.

But things go awry on a visit home to New Jersey for the bachelorette party of her future sister-in-law. Just as she’s about to escape back to her uncomplicated life her father injures himself and she’s talked into staying to look after him while her mother is in Europe.

Things become even more complicated when Meredith bumps into a childhood acquaintance whom she treated badly

because he was a geeky, gangly crybaby.

Since then he’s evolved into a lean, dark hottie – and he hasn’t forgotten the way she bullied him.

It’s predictable but entertaining chick lit. A perfect option after a busy week or when you’re looking for a light read that won’t tax your brain cells.
