Book: The Last Rhinos - Lawrence Anthony with Graham Spence

After orphaned rhino Heidi is brutally slaughtered for her horn at Thula Thula in Zululand the game reserve’s owner, Lawrence Anthony, is horrified to discover there are only a handful of northern white rhinos left in the wild.

They live in the Congo and are on the brink of extinction.

Anthony – known as “the Indiana Jones of conservation” – decides to take action and so begins an extraordinary adventure which sees him flying into a warzone to negotiate with some of the most dangerous men on Earth.

Anthony’s previous offering, The Elephant Whisperer – in which he shared the life lessons he’d learnt from watching a herd of elephants – was a bestseller.

Sadly he died earlier this year aged 62, just a month before The Last Rhinos hit the shelves.
