As the birth of the Duchess of Cambridge’s second child draws near, the question on everyone’s lips is what she and William will call the baby.

While there has been no confirmation whether it’s a boy or girl, it’s widely speculated that Prince George will soon have a baby sister and bookies are accepting bets on possible names for the baby.

Elizabeth and Diana have been strong contenders as names for the baby girl, but Charlotte is also a favourite with bookies William Hill and Paddy Power putting the odds at 4/1 and 5/1 respectively.

Charlotte was 17th on the list of the most popular baby names in the UK last year and is Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton’s second name.

Queen Charlotte, King George III’s wife, is probably the best known royal, but the name Charlotte has not been used by the monarchy for some time. So will the new addition to the royal household be called Charlotte when she makes her appearance in April?
